Recently, she has furthered her expertise by pursuing an Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Vijaya has held various pivotal roles, including District Collector and several key positions in both the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. Her contributions to public welfare and governance have been immense, especially in the agriculture and allied sectors. As the former Secretary of Agriculture, she played a crucial role in achieving record production in paddy, wheat, and potatoes, with the highest paddy production still standing to date. Dr. Vijaya is not only recognized for her administrative acumen but also for her dedication to gender and women empowerment. She has numerous publications and national and international awards to her credit and has successfully implemented innovative development programs. Outside of her professional pursuits, she is passionate about Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form, showcasing her multifaceted talents.
